Spring has always felt like a fresh clean slate to me. It’s a season of rejuvenation —a time when we declutter our homes and offices, refresh our daily routines, and embrace a new energy that the season always seems to bring. So I ask U, dear reader, have U ever thought about applying this same concept to your leadership style? Just like a messy closet or a disorganized office can slow U down, outdated leadership habits can hold U back from growth, and hold U hostage to the status quo.
As leaders, we evolve over time…(and leadership is a journey, not a destination, remember…) Sometimes, we hold onto habits that no longer serve us, or our teams. Maybe it’s a habit of micromanaging when trust should take center stage. Or perhaps it’s avoiding difficult conversations instead of addressing challenges head-on. Or it could be sticking to the “way we’ve always done it” instead of embracing fresh ideas and new perspectives.
This Spring, I invite U to take a step back and ask yourself:
• What leadership habits are limiting my growth?
• Am I making space for innovation, collaboration, and trust?
• What do I need to release in order to be a better leader…a NEXT LEVEL Leader?
Spring cleaning isn’t just about getting rid of the old—it’s about making room for what’s next. When we shed ineffective habits, we open the door for stronger connections, more clear communication, and a leadership style that truly supports growth—for both U and your team. And that’s a winning combination.
So share with us, what’s one leadership habit you’re ready to let go of this season? I’d love to hear how U plan to take advantage of this season and freshen up your leadership style. Remember, small tweaks can lead to great changes, and dramatic growth. So go ahead, freshen up!
With love & gratitude,
Jodi
